2nd International Conference

Introduction

In an increasingly interconnected world, teacher education stands at the intersection of preserving local educational philosophies, traditions and practices and addressing contemporary global demands and trends. In this context, an international conference is being organized with a view to bringing together teacher educators, practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to engage in critical dialogue on local traditions and evolving global practices and paradigms with a view to reconceiving teacher education by critically appropriating them. Bringing forth diverse perspectives, perceptions and lived experiences, particularly from India and Nepal, it aims at reshaping teacher education that takes into account and is informed by cultural as well as global universal resources and serves the interest of quality education and social justice. In an era where teacher education is shaped by both cultural values and rapidly shifting global dynamics, the Conference aspires to be a platform for thoughtful reflection, collaboration, and transformative action and exchange.
Objectives
The specific objectives of the Conference are:            

  • To explore how local traditions, indigenous pedagogies, and cultural knowledge systems can meaningfully inform teacher education, curricula and practices;
  • To critically discuss the impact of global trends, such as digitalization, mobility, and policy reform on local teacher education; and
  • To facilitate dialogue and collaboration among researchers, educators, and institutions working towards inclusive, ethical, and culturally responsive teacher education

Submission Guidelines

Title: Title must not exceed fifteen words. Exclamation/question marks should be avoided.

Abstract: Ideally, abstract must be between 150-300 words. This should be written in third person present tense.
Repetition of Information: You must not repeat your title or include any bio-data in your abstract.
Repetition of Presentation: Abstract must be original, not submitted to other conferences in the present or modified form.
Citing and Referencing: The APA 7th edition must be followed.
Bio: Presenter’s bio must not exceed 60 words, and it should be written in the third person present tense. E.g.  XYZ Sharma is an English teacher at Himalayan Gurukul School. She/he has authored ….
Language, Font and Size: The acceptable font is Times New Roman, 12 pt.
Paper Presentation
Paper can be empirical or conceptual or theoretical. Presentations of empirical studies should provide a rationale for the study, a description of the methodology, research results, conclusions, and implications. Presentations of conceptual or theoretical paper should discuss an approach or a critical issue, compare and contrast alternative approaches or issues, or provide significant or innovative perspectives. Each presentation is allocated twenty-five minutes.
Poster Presentation
Poster presentation can be made on recently completed or ongoing project or research. Poster will be presented in the  scheduled session followed by discussion or response from the presenter. The permissible size of the poster is between 59.4 cm wide x 84 cm high and 70 cm wide x 100 cm high. An electronic version of each poster may be archived on NOU website for future reference. Poster abstracts should be between 300 to 600 words.
Workshops Guidelines
We also invite workshop proposal that align with the themes of the Conference. A workshop proposal should be clearly and adequately specific on theme it pursues; procedure as to how it is conducted; perspectives on which it is predicated; learning outcomes, method of participation and engagement, materials and equipment to be used, target audience, duration etc. 
Ideally, a proposal is expected to be between 150-300 words.

Review of Abstract/Proposal

  • A submission will be evaluated by a method of blind review based on the focus, clarity, relevance, structure, coherence and originality.
  • A submission will be strictly checked for plagiarism.

Note for Presenters

  • One can present two abstracts at most, as a main presenter in one and co-presenter in another, not as a main presenter in both

  • ​​An abstract can have no more than two presenters.

  • All presenters must register, pay the registration fee and be physically present in the event.

  • ​All presentations will be scheduled. Presenters will be informed of the time and date of their presentation in advance.
