Dr. Kurt Paterson, Ph.D., P.E., is an accomplished leader in the field of engineering and academia. He currently holds the position of Director at The Polytechnic School at Arizona State University. With a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Dr. Paterson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role. His impressive academic journey includes a distinguished career at James Madison University, where he served as the Head of the Department of Engineering for seven years.

 In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Paterson extends his leadership to the U.S. Department of State, where he serves as a Senior Sustainability Advisor. In this capacity, he plays a vital role in developing data and modeling architecture for estimating the State Department's greenhouse gas emissions inventory across its global operations. Dr. Paterson's work also involves enhancing the department's sustainability efforts and climate literacy initiatives. He has represented the United States on the international stage as part of the Network for Sustainable Foreign Ministries.
